About us

In 1937, Adriaan Noordam built his first greenhouses in Woubrugge, on the Boddens Hosangweg. Adriaan Noordam started with the cultivation of grapes, whereupon a lot of other vegetables followed, such as tomatoes and cucumbers. In the second world war tobacco was also grown. The company then counted approximately 3000 m2 glass surface and some employees were operative.

In the year 1993 it is started with the cultivation of pot plants, namely Rhodochiton in pyramid-form. And hereafter this cultivation grew each year at the cost of the carnations. Every year more species of pot plants were added to the portfolio. In 1995 Noordam started with the cultivation of violins.

In 2008, L.J. Noordam VOF has entirely switched on the cultivation of pot plants. In June 2008 the build of a new greenhouse started. The construction has a surface of 5000 m2, entirely arranged for the pot plant cultivation. The glass surface has now been expanded up to 14000 m2. The company has now approx. 6000 m2 container field. The only flower cultivation left is Celosia Cristata.
